Joey Braun Running Doubles at AMS

Starting the year off with not one, but two races on the agenda for his first race-weekend of 2022, New York's very own Joey Braun will attempt to sweep the Late Model and Legend Car races at Anderson Motor Speedway.

A long offseason gave Joey just the right time to regroup following 2021 season highs and prepare for a new year down south behind the wheel of a Late Model. 2021 marked Braun's first two victories in the Dwight Huffman Racing prepared Toyota in his first two starts in the racecar, both coming from Tri County Speedway in Hudson, North Carolina over the summer. The year also featured an INEX National Qualifier win in the Papa Carmine's Hot Peppers Legend car at Riverhead Raceway. 2021 was a textbook year for Joey's development, to say the least.

Now as the page has turned for a new season, Joey is prepared to take everything he's learned in a racecar up to this point to continue success into 2022. The beginning of this season's journey takes place at Anderson Motor Speedway for round #1 of the Southeast Super Truck Series season. The series, highlighted by Super Trucks, also features the Southeast Limited Late Model and Southeast Legends tours. For Joey, he'll be running both the DHR Late Model and his personal Legend car for his first outing with the tour and first trip to Anderson.

Pulling double duty is something that Braun hasn't dealt with in the past, so adapting and adjusting to the two completely different race vehicles will be a small hurdle to get used to. Following 50 laps in the Late Model, Joey will have to hop over to the Legend and strap in for another 30 laps around the 3/8-mile stop-and-go type of speedway.

Racing this weekend (4/23) begins at 7:00pm. Tickets for adults are only $15, seniors $10, Children $5, and under 5 get in for free. For those who cannot attend in person, the show will be broadcasted live on www.sest.tv and Pit Row TV.
